Seminar on “Alccohol and Drug Addiction Treatment” in Bhopal

Hope Trust, as a part of its continuing effort of spreading awareness about addiction treatment, conducted a seminar at Bhopal (capital city of Madhya Pradesh) on 16 February at Courtyard by Marriot.

Earlier, Hope Trust has conducted similar seminars on addiction treatment at Amritsar, Ahmedabad and Kolkata.

The seminar at Bhopal was an open house and anyone could attend. Several doctors, social workers from local NGOs, families of alcoholics and addicts and media persons attended the session. Ms. Rajeshwari Luther and Mr. Rahul Luther conducted the seminar wherein they showed a power point on addiction – its causes, symptoms and treatment.

Generally, when addiction affects an individual, the family does not know what to do. It has a devastating affect on the individual and greatly impacts the family too. The seminar communicated to the public what the treatment options are; this provides some hope to the families and care-givers who are struggling with an apparently hopeless situation.

The response to the seminar was good and local media covered the event too.
