Ecstasy or MDMA (Methylenedioxy-N-methamphetamine)
Ecstasy is a stimulant that can result in hallucinations. It’s called a “designer drug” or a “party drug” because it makes people happy. Teens and young adults who attend clubs, concerts, or “rave” parties are particularly fond of the substance.
Users believe that the medication will make them feel terrific and allow them to go for days without rest. On the other hand, people who use Ecstasy are unaware of how dangerous the substance is.
Ecstasy has become one of the most widely available illegal narcotics on the streets. Ecstasy has recently brought many people to emergency rooms because of its hazardous side effects.
The drug is also known as XTC, X, Adam, E, Roll, A, 007, and Molly.Ecstasy can be ingested (as a pill or tablet) or snorted (powder).
Ecstasy is a hallucinogenic and stimulating substance. It gives users a surge of good feelings (a high) and intensifies feelings, whether they are excellent or terrible. The effects of the drug can last for up to 6 hours.
Ecstasy causes a rise in heart rate, dry mouth, clenched teeth, impaired vision, chills, sweat, and nausea. Some users may feel anxious, confused, and paranoid, as if someone is attempting to harm them or planning against them. Ecstasy has the potential to damage brain cells involved in cognition and memory.
When a person uses Ecstasy, their body might severely overheat while dancing or engaging in other physical activity, resulting in muscle breakdown, kidney, liver, and heart damage, and even death. Seizures, cerebral swelling, probable brain damage, and even death can result from ecstasy usage.
MDMA treatment usually consists of psychotherapy and medication. Hope Trust also provides psychological assessments to evaluate the individual’s issues.
